Chinese business has long been involved with the West in many business capacities from providing primary manufacturing services to consultation and business partnerships. With the growth in the UK of window coverings market including blinds and shutters, a Chinese company based in the Jiangshu province has found a long term strategic alliance with UK based leading plantation shutters DIY store The california Company.
Changzhou Shutters Ltd. have improved their manufacturing facilities within China to accommodate the extreme growth in the UK retailer trade for self installation shutters, with an increase in production of over 100% in 2008. Not only have these two companies found symbiotic relationships working seamlessly to produce a high quality wooden shutter product, but working further together has led the manufacturing process to pass stringent Forestry Commission Guidelines, allowing these wood shutters to gain FSC accreditation.
Both company directors are extremely pleased with this long term partnership now in its’ third year, with UK based director Murray Clark regularly visits the Jiangshu province factory facilities ensuring all the production staff and facilities meet with international guidelines and the working environment is satisfactory at all levels.
With 2009 showing poor economic signs globally both companies in China and the UK are well placed to allow for changes in production although the current window covering trends in the UK show that shutters are a high growth market area and the California Co. directors remain confident that their products will remain consistently at the forefront of the public eye through their quality assurances and environmental policies.
